How should I store my pet’s dry food?
The recommended storage method is to keep the food in its original packaging, in order to keep vital information handy in case you have a problem, emergency, or question for the manufacturer.
You may store the entire bag in a closed container as well.
Please know, food should be kept in a cool, dry location as excess heat or moisture may cause the nutrients to break down.
FEEDING AND NUTRITION
Are your diets tested using AAFCO feeding trials or by formulation to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles?
All our recipes are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by AAFCO. In addition to formulating our recipes to meet AAFCO standards and requirements, we have many checks and balances in place to ensure the nutritional integrity of our recipes. Our foods and treats are tested by 3rd-party accredited labs for nutritional profile, pathogens, heavy metals, and other contaminants to ensure they meet our strict nutritional and food safety standards. We take great pride in sourcing only the highest quality ingredients, maintaining significant control and traceability throughout our supply chain, and ensuring that the foods we make are not only extremely healthy but also safe.
What is AAFCO?
AAFCO is an acronym for the Association of American Feed Control Officials. AAFCO is a non-profit organization that sets standards for both animal feeds and pet foods in the United States.
How do I switch my pet into PetMarra?
We recommend a gradual transition between recipes over a period of 7–10 days. You can do this by starting with:
• Day 1-3: Mix 25% of your new diet with 75% of your pet's previous diet
• Day 4-6: Then, 50% of each diet
• Day 7-10: Followed by 75% of the new with 25% of the previous diet
• Day 11: You can now try feeding with 100% of the new diet.
Does PetMarra include fresh meat?
Yes, the first ingredient in PetMarra food for cats and dogs is always fresh meat. To ensure a complete nutritional profile, these also contain animal ingredients that have been dehydrated and hydrolyzed.
How much food should I feed my pet?
Our feeding guides are listed on the left side of every package as well as on the individual product pages of our website.
Feeding amounts can be adjusted based on the age, breed and activity level of your pet.
Is it okay to feed dry kibble from one recipe and wet food from another?
Yes. Many pets enjoy the variety that comes from feeding them more than one recipe. If you are feeding both wet and dry food, keep an eye on the calories to make sure you are not overfeeding.
What are the benefits of feeding my pets with PetMarra continuously?
A continuous intake will help strengthen the immune system and support overall health. Functional peptides which balance intestinal bacteria improve absorption of nutrients, and make your pet healthier and more energetic. Therefore, continuous use for at least 6-12 weeks is recommended.
